We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. As a Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining control systems that drive the automation and efficiency of our production processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and production personnel, to ensure the seamless operation of our manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement control systems for manufacturing processes, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Create and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts to support control system installations and upgrades.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to integrate control systems into production equipment and machinery.
- Develop and implement PLC and HMI programming, including ladder logic, structured text, and graphical interfaces, to control and monitor industrial processes.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose control system issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.
- Conduct testing and validation of control systems to ensure reliable and safe operation in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Participate in the commissioning and startup of new manufacturing equipment, providing technical expertise and support to ensure smooth integration and operation.
- Provide training and technical guidance to maintenance teams and operators to facilitate proper operation and maintenance of control systems.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in control system technologies, automation techniques, and industry best practices, and recommend innovative solutions to improve manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing, programming, and implementing control systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram.
- Familiarity with HMI development tools and software (e.g., Siemens WinCC, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Wonderware).
- Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel design.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues and implement effective solutions.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to control systems and industrial automation.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management abilities, including the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering.
- Experience with motion control systems and robotics.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
